とうわけで次のCEOはナデラなのだそうな。こうやってみるとなかなかふてぶてしい面構えをしてMicrosoftのCEOに相応しく見える。そのプロフィールを紹介するMicrosoftのページも美しくデザインされている。

今からみてわかることがだが、彼が従業員向けのEmailで言っていることは、このSuperBowl2014で流されたCMと符合している。

Why am I here?
I am here for the same reason I think most people join Microsoft to change the world through technology that empowers people to do amazing things.

なぜ私がここにいるか？：それはほとんどのMicrosoft社員と同じ理由だと思う。人々が驚くようなことを成し遂げるのを可能にするテクノロジーを通じて世の中を変えたいからだ。

彼が内定するよりずっと前にCMは作成されていただろうから、これは誰かが決めた新しいテーマなのだろうな。というか見返してみたら、バルマーの引退メールにも"empowering customers in the activities they value most"という表現があった。最近のMicrosoftの標語であるか。

いずれにせよ新しいCEOの前には困難な仕事が横たわっている。デバイスの分野でAppleと、サーバーを中心としたサービスの分野でGoogleと競合せねばならず、少なくとも今のところ分が悪い。だからこれくらいは大目に見ようじゃないの。
